FPB 011 - Janna's "Back To The Wilderness" (100 CS) - Janna and me bonded in our late teens over pennsylvania-ness and new sincerity. On this, her 2nd opus, she has come into her own in a major way - blending sage fingerpicking, perfect indie rock sonics, evocative lyricism and tender soundscape, wrangling all of her creative worlds into one. With themes of identity crises and re-assembling selfhood in solitude and wilderness, this album is a lavender tonic to the collective fog we've been feeling under these covid moons. It is also worth noting Janna is part of the ever-emergent Philadelphia DIY pop sound, engineering records for many local artists from DIY auteurs to household names. She is going to be canon before you know it, so get in on the ground floor if you know what's good -
