FPB 012 - Thomas (Cashmere Washington) became kin to me in Ypsilanti when we reckoned each others sprawling experimental practices. A deep student of equal parts Midwestern Emo, experimental MCs and the sprawling international beat scene - its always a pleasure to see them blend elements to create scream-alongable jams out of soul samples, recordings of voicemails, open 7th guitar chords, jazzier guitar chords, and banging drums. In this EP, a nod to Ornette Coleman, Thomas reckons the past and the future from a cathartic, cosmic vantage point. A post-emo album with some DJ-mustard style production in it, this album is the 4 am half asleep car bumper skid on the way into the proverbial taco bell for a good cry.
